How The Allied People’s Movement (APM) Governorship Candidate Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi and his running mate, Engr. Open Salawu Turned a Child’s Courage into an Unforgettable Moment

Thank you Tour events are often remembered for speeches, policy discussions and cheering supporters. But at a recent gathering in Oyo State, one of the most memorable moments came from an unexpected source—a nine-year-old boy with a microphone and a dream.

His name is OLATIDE DIETER.

As the crowd gathered around the APM gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, and his deputy governorship running mate, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, Olatide patiently waited for an opportunity to do what he loves most: ask questions.

The young interviewer eventually caught Hon. Adekanmbi’s attention. Rather than allowing the busy atmosphere to interrupt the moment, the gubernatorial candidate welcomed Olatide warmly, giving him his full attention throughout the interview.

With confidence beyond his years, Olatide asked thoughtful questions while Hon. Adekanmbi listened attentively and responded with patience and encouragement. The interaction quickly became one of the highlights of the event, drawing smiles and admiration from those nearby.

Standing beside the candidate was Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, who quietly observed the exchange with visible warmth and admiration, his expression reflected appreciation for the young interviewer’s courage and composure. At the end of the interview, he greeted Olatide with a warm handshake and a broad smile—a simple gesture that left a lasting impression on everyone watching.

For many in attendance, the encounter was about more than a Thank You Tour. It was a reminder that leadership is often expressed through everyday acts of kindness, patience and encouragement.

For Olatide Dieter, the interview marked another important step in his journey as a young interviewer. It demonstrated that age should never be a barrier to asking meaningful questions or pursuing one’s passion.

As the event came to a close, it was clear that those present had witnessed more than an interview. They had seen a young boy’s confidence met with respect, encouragement and genuine attention from two Important Aspirants.

In a world where children are often encouraged to wait their turn, this moment offered a different message: dreams deserve to be nurtured, curiosity should be welcomed and every child deserves the confidence that comes from being heard.

Sometimes, the most powerful stories are not told from the stage—they begin with the smallest voice in the crowd.
