The Oyo State Police Command paraded two people on Monday, for allegedly robbing students at a hostel of the Special Federal College of Education, SPED, Akinmoorin, near Oyo town.
The two of them are ex-convicts who were released from the Abolongo Prison in April.
The PUNCH reports that the suspects were alleged to have in company with three others invaded the hostel on May 13, 2019.
The state Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, said, “Five notorious hoodlums, who were armed with guns, cutlasses and some other dangerous weapons, dispossessed some of the students of their money, laptops, cell phones and other valuables.
“Two of the hoodlums, who identified themselves as Sunday Samuel and Idowu Clarkson, were arrested in their hideouts within Oyo town.
“The arrested suspects confessed to the crime and confirmed that they were released from the Abolongo Prison on April 25, 2019.
“Their confessional statements later led to the arrest of two of their criminal receivers, who identified themselves as Oloko Qudus and Simon Chucks.
“Five laptops and seven expensive cell phones belonging to some of the students were recovered from the hoodlums.”
