Oluyole LG Chairman Strengthens Community Security with New Amotekun Base, Operational Motorcycles

In a significant move to enhance the safety and security of residents, the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has commissioned a newly established Amotekun operational base alongside a fleet of operational motorcycles to improve the corps' effectiveness across the local government.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening grassroots security, improving rapid response to emergencies, and enhancing surveillance in communities, especially in areas that are difficult to access with conventional patrol vehicles.

The commissioning ceremony attracted government officials, community leaders, traditional rulers, security stakeholders, and residents who applauded the local government's commitment to protecting lives and property.

The event was graced by the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Prof. Musbau Babatunde, who commended the Oluyole Local Government administration for prioritizing security and supporting the efforts of the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps). He emphasized that security remains a shared responsibility and encouraged continuous collaboration between government, security agencies, and residents to sustain peace and stability.

Speaking during the commissioning, Engr. Akeem Olatunji reiterated that the safety of the people remains one of the major priorities of his administration. He noted that the new Amotekun base would serve as a strategic operational center, while the motorcycles would enable officers to respond swiftly to security threats, patrol rural communities more effectively, and maintain law and order throughout the local government.

According to the chairman, investing in security infrastructure is essential for creating an environment where businesses can thrive, farmers can work without fear, and residents can go about their daily activities with confidence.

Residents and stakeholders present at the event described the project as timely, expressing optimism that the improved operational capacity of the Amotekun Corps would further strengthen security across Oluyole Local Government.
